Hi Mom,

Whew what a day. Theresa discovered the hot water heater leaking yesterday. We got it all contained and mostly cleaned up. Then today I went to Home Depot and bought a new hot water heater and supplies to install it. $615 and 6 hours later we have hot water again. I was kinda surprised that I actually successfully installed it my self :-) It only took one additional trip back to home depot for missing parts.

Aside from that it's been a pretty good weekend.

Friday night Megan had a sleep over at Clara's and Chloe had a babysitting job from about 6-10pm. So Theresa and I had a date night. We went to dinner at Cantina Laredo. It was decent. A little upscale and pricey. I just like plain old Mexican food - nothing too fancy. Afterwards we went to see Date Night with Steve Carrell and Tina Fey. I really liked it. Again - another surprising Hollywood movie that celebrates marriage. It was a lot of fun.

Saturday morning was running club for me. Theresa and Chloe headed out for a haircut at about noon. And Megan went down to Elitch Gardens for the day.

In the evening Theresa and went to a charity function for Longmont Ending Violence Initiative (LEVI) - a group that works in the community to raise awareness and educate against domestic violence. It was their annual fundraiser and our leadership group from Intrado has been helping them all year. Theresa donated two purses for a silent auction. I think they went for $25 and $35 each. We also bid on and won a restaurant gift basket with vouchers from Buffalo Wild Wings, Outback Steak House, Red Robin and Le Peep (a $105 value we paid $60 for).

Normal church day this morning. And hot water heater repair all afternoon.

Hi Mom,

We survived the weekend without Theresa. And I think Theresa survived the women's retreat. She got home about 4:00pm today - worn out.

Friday night both the girls had sleepovers. They were away 'til 1pm on Saturday.

So I rode my bike Friday night. Then went and had a massage. And watched Survivor all by my lonesome. Saturday morning I had my running group - Boulder Striders. I run with them every spring to train for the Bolder Boulder and tune up for triathlon season. They are all hard core runners. It's hard for me to keep up. Lots of miles at a very fast pace :-)

I picked up both girls in the afternoon and Megan sprang a surprise school project on me. We had to do some visual aids on Puerto Rico. We ended up doing a topo map and a clay model of Christopher Columbus. It was a little stressful but we got there in the end.

Saturday night we went out to China Gourmet for dinner. Mongolian Beef, Cashew Shrimp and Sesame Chicken. It was good. Then we came home and had a slumber party in my room. We caught up on Glee. Then they watched a few other things while I crashed.

We all went to church this morning. Megan and I go early for the first sevice and junior high group. Then I go home and pick up Chloe to bring her back for the senior high group during the second service. Juggling it all. Chloe found out that her leader (Thomas Milburn) is quitting in August to move on to something else. She was a little bummed about that. It's the second time that's happened. Bobby and Joy left and now Thomas.

We also had a meeting after Church about a senior high missions trip to Tecate Mexico to build houses. Chloe is really interested in going and I'm encouraging her. It looks like a great opportunity. It's for a week on June 5th. The cost is $400. We have to come up with $200 and then the students have to raise an additional $200 in support.

Normal nacho dinner tonight. And watched an episode of Chuck. That's a fun show. Now we are cozied in bed and watching The Jazz Singer w/Neil Diamond.

That's about it for now!

Luv u,

Jeff

Hi Mom,

We had a fun and busy week. The Taylor Swift concert on Tuesday night was the most fun. We ate dinner at Noodles & Company on the way down town. The concert started at 7pm at the Pepsi Center. There was a warmup band that we missed. Then Kelly Pickler came on around 7:45 and sang for about 45 minutes. She was cute.

Taylor started at 8:30pm and played for almost two hours. She was a great performer and entertainer. The girls had a blast. It was loud but I didn't think it was too loud. There were probably around 16,000 people there (mostly screaming 13 year olds). It was a late night. I think we all fell in bed around midnight. Needless to say it was a tough start on Thursday morning.

The weather has been gorgeous this weekend. I got out for a 10 mile run on Saturday and a 40 mile bile ride today. Watched lots of Masters golf. Happy to see Phil win again. Seemed pretty emotional after the year with his wife and mom.

I also played on the worship team at church this morning. That's always a lot of fun. Aaron Britton, our worship pastor, is a great song writer. We sang 3 Aaron Britton originals and 2 Chris Tomlin songs this morning.

We've also watched two movies this weekend. New Moon the second in the Twilight saga. And Meet The Morgans. Both were pretty good.

Theresa has been furiously washing and working on the women's retreat all weekend. The new washing machine was delivered on Thursday. Needless to say we had a little bit of a laundry backlog. The women's retreat is next weekend. Theresa and Franci are headed up Thursday morning. So far I think they have 59 women. Pretty close to their 75 quota. They might actually sign up a few more stragglers this coming week.

Megan is doing intramural volleyball at school right now. They have over 70 girls playing and have divided up into 10 teams. There is a big tournament on Tuesday to wrap things up.

We did get all of the boxes you shipped. I think they came on Wednesday. We haven't even had time to open them up yet but we will. I know it's hard getting rid of stuff :-(

I'm reading a great book right now called "Born to Run" by Chris McDougall. It's fantastic. About a running tribe called the Tarahumara in the Copper Canyons of Mexico. I remembered you took a train trip through that part of Mexico.

Well time for bed. Gotta be rested to start it all over again tomorrow.

luv u,

Jeff
