Weekly Email

Hi Mom (and Dad and everybody else),

Crazy week coming to an end.

Mostly it was about the cold.  -17F at the lowest.  The girls missed out on 2 days of school (Tues/Wed) because of the extreme cold.  Theresa didn't have to go down to Sports Solution for work on Tuesday and W2W was canceled also.  And I skipped out on BSF.  We've had some snow to go with it too.  Most recently - 6 inches last night.  Spring isn't close enough!

We went skiing last Saturday.  Chloe was away at the winter retreat.  And we had Clara Leitz for the whole weekend.  So it was Megan, Clara, Theresa and I at Eldora.  It was a beautiful day (before the extreme cold set in).  Megan and Clara skied together.  That left Theresa and I to have a great day together.  We just got your picture in the mail from your ski trip too.  Fun!

Friday we had an appointment with a company that takes time shares off your hands.  We ended up doing business with them and we no longer have our time share.  It's kind of a relief to be out from under it.  Our annual maintenance fee went up to $2900 this year.  It was more expensive to pay the maintenance fees than it was to just rent it on the open market.  The company we worked with was Safe Hands.  There rep, Shane Adams, was really great.  It did cost us $2900 to get out of it.  But that's the cost of just one annual maintenance fee.  And we got to bank our points for this year.  So all in all it was a reasonable deal.

Did you see the picture of Julie's car from the snow damage?  They were at a volleyball tournament and the snow slid off the roof of a building.  They had to tow her car away.  Crazy!

We've watched a couple of movies this week too.  One was an Academy Award notable - The Kids Are All Right.  Not my favorite.  Then we watched Charlie St. Cloud.  Actually I watched Charlie St. Cloud and Theresa slept through it :-)  That wasn't bad.  A little strange.  But I guessed the plot half way through.

Tonight we went over to the Markland's house for our annual Superbowl Party.  We gorged ourselves on hot wings, coon balls, little smokies and other hors d'oeuvres.  We stayed 'til half time then headed back home.  I finished the game at home.  It turned out to be a pretty good game.  Go Pack Go.

I saw that Arizona B-Ball had an exciting triple overtime win the other night.  Missouri finally won one against Colorado (and I won a lunch bet in the process).  Tomorrow night is a big game against Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.  That's going to be tough to win there.   I have BSF so I'll have to record and try not to hear the score and watch it when I get home.

Theresa and I are scheduled to be on a panel on marriage and parenting at the church on Tuesday for MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers).  I'm not sure we are really qualified but we'll do our best :-)

Well that's about it for now.  Time to go to bed.

luv u,

Jeff
