Weekly Email

Hi Mom,

We are back from a rainy, mellow, laid back weekend in Beaver Creek.  It was pretty gloomy all weekend.  But we really didn't mind.  We got up there about 7pm Friday night and had Costco pizza brought from home.  Everybody slept in a bit on Saturday morning.  We headed out for breakfast/brunch at Denny's around 10am.  Then over to Walmart for a little shopping and a few groceries.  We dropped everything off at the condo and then went back out to the River Walk in Edwards to check out the shops and see Secretariat at the movie theater for 1:10pm.  I really enjoyed the movie.  What an amazing story of an amazing horse (and all the people behind him :-).

After the day out - I settled in for the Missouri vs. Oklahoma football game - WAHOO!  What a great effort by Missouri.  I was on the edge of my seat the whole game.  I can't believe they actually pulled it off and won.  That's probably one of the biggest wins in Missouri's history (if not THE biggest).  Jumped us all the way up to number 8 in the polls today.  And Nebraska next week - tough.

We had Chinese food in little frozen containers from Walmart (that wasn't very good) during the game.  The girls hit the pool, hot tub and fitness center - they weren't too interested in the game.

I finished a book up in Beaver Creek - mindless fiction recommended by a friend on the worship team - The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell.  About the Saxons and the Danes fighting to rule England.  It was okay.  It's part of a series and I'm not sure I'll read the others.

Today we checked out at 10am and headed for the outlet malls in Silverthorn.  Gap, Old Navy, Aeropostle, Lucky Jeans... then a quick Chipotle for lunch and home.

There was snow up in the passes (pictures on Ceiva).

We got home about 3:30pm and unpacked and working on some homework.  Getting ready for the week.

Megan got her report card last week.  All As and 1 B - 3.875 GPA.

Theresa had a busy week with work and more of the same next week.  Monday at the church, tuesday/thursday at Sport Solution.

Whew - that's all I know.

"mindless fiction", haha, actually it's historical fiction since the events are true. i think the books are easy reading, and somewhat convenient in their story lines, like the main character has quite a few things go his way.

anyway, not the most dynamic read, but super easy, i'm already on book 4/5 right now. then onto Atlas Shrugged.
