Tom Shirk

"On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness;
for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is
profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life
and also for the life to come. " 1 Timothy 4:7-8

Memorize scripture
Joshua 1:8,9
Job 23:12
Psalm 1:1-3

1. What do you believe about God?
2. What do you believe about mankind?
3. What do you believe about Jesus?
3. What do you believe about salvation?

LifeGroup Questions:
1. Do you think there is a greater tendency today toward legalism or
licentiousness? Why?
2. Name some of the promises of a Godly life. (If you need help, see
Psalm 1, Proverbs 3:5,6; John 8:31,32; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; Philippians
4:6,7; Romans 8:6)
3. What areas of your life could use greater discipline for greater
godliness? What suggestions can you offer each other for developing
such discipline?
4. How can we more intentionally fix our hope on the "Living
God?" (See Hebrews 12:1-3; 1 Peter 1:13; 1 Timothy 6:17-19)
