Hi Mom (Dad & everybody else),
Just a quickie as we get ready to run out the door for a W2W core-team Christmas party.
The girls are out of school. Chloe survived finals. Megan did *not* get the Annie part :-( So - they are both up for a good 2-week break.
Wouldn't you know it, Megan got sick the day before the audition. She managed to get through it. In the end a 6th grader in Ms. Keene's choir class got the part. Megan is the under-study for Molly - one of the other orphans.
Chloe worked really hard on finals - she really got organized, poured over notes, studied with friends, stayed up late - and in the end did pretty good with everything except math. Geometric proofs are hard - I don't even understand them.
We had another team building event at work - my boss took us to the movies. We saw "The Tourist" with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie - it wasn't very good.
Theresa and I also watched "Grown Ups" last night on OnDemand. It was pretty funny.
Interesting to hear about some of the movies you've been to see. How was Black Swan? That seems a little racey :-) We'd kind of like to see the King's Speach and The Fighter. I have The Social Network on my list to see too.
I just finished a few decent books. Rick Springfield's autobiography - Late Late at Night. He really suffers with depression. Do More Faster is about entrepreneurial start-ups by a local Boulder guy - Brad Feld. It's in interesting look at what it takes to start your own high tech company - in hopes of becoming the next Google, Facebook or Twitter - most don't make it (1 in 10). And finally, Meghan McCain's Dirty Sexy Politics - it was a pretty light-hearted look at her involvement in the campaign. Not very serious reading :-)
We are off of BSF for the next couple of weeks too.
I don't really have any plans to take any extra days off for Christmas. This coming Friday and Monday are the days off for Christmas. And then the following Friday is the day off for the New Years holiday. I'm on call during the daytime Tue-Thu between Christmas and New Year. So I can't really take those days off anyway.
We had super warm weather here today. After church both the girls had baby sitting jobs. Theresa and went to the grocery store. Then we split and went for a run and Theresa walked the dog. I had way too many clothes on for almost 60F weather.
Church was good. We are doing a project called the Advent Conspiracy. Worship Fully, Spend less, Give More, Love All.
Well that's about it. I'll try to get some new photos up on Ceiva. I have kinda forgotten about that
luv u,
Jeff

Hi Mom (and Dad, and everybody else),
It's been a few weeks since I've written. With you here for Thanksgiving I haven't gotten back in the habit yet.
Sure was a nice visit. It seems like such a long time ago. Now time is quickly marching on towards Christmas. It was great to get a head start on the decorations while you were here with the Christmas tree and lights. Theresa has been busy this weekend with the rest. Garland and lights up the stairs and on the mantel. Nativity scenes, snowmen, wreaths, etc etc etc. It looks great and really starting to feel like it 'tis the season. We haven't had any snow down here. Maybe 1 1/2 inches so far this winter. The mountains are getting a lot of it - good for skiing. But it'd be fun to have some down here too.
One more week of school for the girls. I really feel for Chloe - she has final exams all next week (2 a day for Tue-Thu). She has been studying hard for the past couple of weeks. But it's HARD! I helped her with some world history and math a little and I can hardly answer the questions myself (Google and Wikipedia are your friend!).
Megan has been working hard on school too. And she's been practicing for the lead audition in the school musical (Annie Jr.). She has to sing "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow". She went and had a vocal lesson from Aaron Britton (worship pastor at church) and has a another one next Wednesday. Then I think the try outs are on Thursday. She also had a big part in the play for her drama class. It was an excellent production.
Seems like we are always on the go. With Theresa working on Monday's at the church and Tues/Thurs at Sport Solution it makes for a busy week. At least W2W has ended for the year so she has some time on Weds & Fri now. Tomorrow is my last BSF for the year - so that will be a nice break too. We have a couple of Christmas parties to go to next Sunday and Monday.
We got your Christmas cards for each of the family yesterday. I assume they are to wait until Christmas. Thanks!
We've watched a couple of movies from Netflix the last couple of days. An Education (coming of age movie w/Carey Mulligan in 1969s England) and The Miracle Match (USA soccer team in 1950 - beat England 1-0). Both were okay. We have either Twilight: Eclipse or Eat, Pray, Love for tonight. I also rented The New Karate Kid for me to watch sometime (I can't get the girls interested in it :-).
Not much of a game for the Army Navy game :-( I guess they scored a couple of touchdown's - that's a first for a long time. But I think it's going on 9 years now since Army one. We watched the Heisman award - no question Cam Newton was winning that. Missouri basketball is still going good. But they sure cut it close sometimes. Terrible loss to Georgetown - they had that game won and threw it away. 3pt. overtime win against Vanderbilt. Insight Bowl against Iowa for the football team.
We had a fun team building event at work on Friday. Rib House for lunch and then to Indoor Archery for the afternoon. It was great.
Well that's all I know for now. Have a great week.
Luv u,
Jeff
