Hi Mom,

Just a quick update.  We are sitting here watching the Oscars.  Getting ready for the week ahead.

Megan had a good time at the youth group retreat this weekend.  She left Friday evening around 5:45pm and returned today at 1pm.

Theresa, Chloe and I had a good weekend together too.  We went down to Chili's Friday night for dinner and home to watch Who Are The Rileys (bad) on DVD .  Saturday was hanging around, errands, watching Missouri basketball lose, going to the theater for Chloe to watch I Am Number Four and we saw The Fighter (hard but good).  Sunday church day, chores, fantastic tortilla soup for dinner, sopapillas for desert and the Oscars.

Earlier in the week Megan had her command performances in Annie Jr on Tuesday/Wednesday.  It was a fun production and the kids did just great.  Parent teacher conferences for Megan too on Thursday night.

I saw a little bit of the golf.  Did you get out to see it on Saturday?

We've booked the Sheraton Suites and Hotel at 5151 Grant Road for March 20-26 spring break.  We have somebody to house sit and watch Dots.  Can't wait.

Well that's it for now.

luv u,

Jeff

Geniuses at the Genius Bar

Hi Mom,

I had a fun week.  Busy at work and regular evening activities.

Monday night BSF.

I think we've had some sickness going around.  Seems like both girls have had it.  And Theresa got it earlier in the week.  She skipped girls night out and stayed home from W2W on Wednesday.

Wednesday afternoon I went down to the Colorado Convention Center for some networking and training.  My whole team had two full days at the Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group (RMOUG) Training days.  And I got it in free on the Weds afternoon.  There were some great presentations and I met up with a bunch of my old team from Sun.

Thursday afternoon our whole management team from work went out to lunch and went bowling.  I bowled a 97 and a a 156.

Friday afternoon both girls had friends over after school.  They ate taco dinner with us.  And then we all headed over to the Coors Event Center to see Boulder vs. Fairview.  It was a good game but Boulder won in the end 47-38.  Boulder finished the regular season 21-2 (16-0 in league play).  They are now seeded #5 in the state tournament.

We had a great day skiing yesterday.  Beautiful weather.  No wind.  We brought a backpack with lunch up to the Lookout on the top of the mountain.  It was gorgeous.  We skied from about 10:15-12:30, then 45 minutes for lunch.  And skied some more from 1:15-2:30.  Perfect day.  That was our 3rd time this year.  We might get one more day in.

Last night we had a good dinner.  We bought a menu planning service for $7 a month callled RelishRelish.Com.  You get a selection of recipes on a website - then go through and pick a handful for the upcoming week.  It then creates a shopping list and all the recipes you need to prepare everything.  It was really good - 3 cheese rigatoni and mixed greens salad w/Dijon vinaigrette.

The girls went over to Whitney's house and watched "The Last Song" with Miley Cyrus in it and Theresa and I watched "Nowhere Boy" about John Lennon's teenage years.  It was pretty interesting to see how it all got started.

Church today.  Laundry Day.  A few errands.  And that's a wrap - week over!

luv u,

Jeff

Hi Mom, et al,

Weekend is coming to an end.  We've had nacho dinner and are now watching The Grammys.  So far it's pretty good.  Nothing too weird - Lady Gaga maybe.

Last night the girls and I went to a Father Daughter Valentines dance at First Pres with Chris, Clara and Emma Leitz.  We had a great time and went to Applebees afterward for dinner.  Theresa went to Noodles&Company with Marlys and then had a quiet night at home.

Last week was a little quieter.  Just the normal BSF Monday, Chloe was sick and out of school Monday and Tuesday.  Theresa working at the church Monday, and Sports Solution Tuesday and Thursday.  In home brunch at our house for Theresa's W2W group on Wednesday.  Megan play practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.  Just the normal routine :-)

We did have snow earlier in the week.  But 60+ temperatures today - so most of the snow is melted.

Chloe had a birthday party sleepover for Ashley Lankford's sweet 16.  They took a limo down to Denver and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.

I did our 2010 Taxes on Saturday.  Nice to have that out of the way.  And I got a nice fat refund, so even better.

I don't know what else to report on so I'll keep it short and sweet.

luv u,

Jeff

Hi Mom (and Dad and everybody else),

Crazy week coming to an end.

Mostly it was about the cold.  -17F at the lowest.  The girls missed out on 2 days of school (Tues/Wed) because of the extreme cold.  Theresa didn't have to go down to Sports Solution for work on Tuesday and W2W was canceled also.  And I skipped out on BSF.  We've had some snow to go with it too.  Most recently - 6 inches last night.  Spring isn't close enough!

We went skiing last Saturday.  Chloe was away at the winter retreat.  And we had Clara Leitz for the whole weekend.  So it was Megan, Clara, Theresa and I at Eldora.  It was a beautiful day (before the extreme cold set in).  Megan and Clara skied together.  That left Theresa and I to have a great day together.  We just got your picture in the mail from your ski trip too.  Fun!

Friday we had an appointment with a company that takes time shares off your hands.  We ended up doing business with them and we no longer have our time share.  It's kind of a relief to be out from under it.  Our annual maintenance fee went up to $2900 this year.  It was more expensive to pay the maintenance fees than it was to just rent it on the open market.  The company we worked with was Safe Hands.  There rep, Shane Adams, was really great.  It did cost us $2900 to get out of it.  But that's the cost of just one annual maintenance fee.  And we got to bank our points for this year.  So all in all it was a reasonable deal.

Did you see the picture of Julie's car from the snow damage?  They were at a volleyball tournament and the snow slid off the roof of a building.  They had to tow her car away.  Crazy!

We've watched a couple of movies this week too.  One was an Academy Award notable - The Kids Are All Right.  Not my favorite.  Then we watched Charlie St. Cloud.  Actually I watched Charlie St. Cloud and Theresa slept through it :-)  That wasn't bad.  A little strange.  But I guessed the plot half way through.

Tonight we went over to the Markland's house for our annual Superbowl Party.  We gorged ourselves on hot wings, coon balls, little smokies and other hors d'oeuvres.  We stayed 'til half time then headed back home.  I finished the game at home.  It turned out to be a pretty good game.  Go Pack Go.

I saw that Arizona B-Ball had an exciting triple overtime win the other night.  Missouri finally won one against Colorado (and I won a lunch bet in the process).  Tomorrow night is a big game against Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.  That's going to be tough to win there.   I have BSF so I'll have to record and try not to hear the score and watch it when I get home.

Theresa and I are scheduled to be on a panel on marriage and parenting at the church on Tuesday for MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers).  I'm not sure we are really qualified but we'll do our best :-)

Well that's about it for now.  Time to go to bed.

luv u,

Jeff
