Weekly Email
Hi Mom!
Getting back in the swing of things. I think I'll have to keep this short and sweet so that I don't wear myself out :-)
We've had a pretty mellow weekend. The girls all hit water world all day on Friday. So they were worn out Friday night.
I went for a 60 mile bike ride on Saturday morning with a good friend up to Carter Lake (popular long bike route from Boulder up towards Ft. Collins). It was a perfect overcast morning so it wasn't too hot at all. A week ago on Saturday I was biking up towards Estes Park (Allenspark actually) - and then ran a 10K running race - fundraiser for a neighbor play ground. I took 3rd overall and 1st in the masters category. I tried to do the Stroke and Stride on Thursday night but we got rained out of the swim and just did a soaked, casual 5K run. I also participated in a 5K fun run at work on Friday and won that too! Getting ready for the Boulder Half Ironman 70.3 race in 2 weeks time. That's always a long hot one.
We've had a movie weekend. Watched: When in Rome, Leap Year, Expelled:No Intelligence Allowed, and Sunshine Cleaning. Also, I finished up watching the Tour de France. What an amazing race. Hard to believe that after 3 weeks of racing only 39 seconds separated Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck. And in the end it wasn't a bad farewell tour for Lance. Radio Shack finished with all their riders still in the race and they won the overall team competition.
I took it pretty easy yesterday after my long ride. But hit the chores hard today. Ran errands, picked up poop, changed light bulbs, vacuumed both cars, washed my car, and treated our sick Ash tree in the backyard. It has a bunch of aphids attaching it. I got a spray to hose them down with and then some tree food that you feed the roots and it goes up the inside of the tree to kill them. Hope it works!
Chloe had a friends spend the night last night (Brynn and Erin) and Megan is sleeping over at Clara's tonight. The dog days of summer are coming to an end. Only a few more weeks 'til school starts :-( Chloe has been keeping busy with volleyball training sessions and babysitting. Megan has been doing a lot of youth group activities (mall scavenger hunt last week).
Looking forward to you coming through and then spending the weekend with you in Estes! Miguel is going to house-sit and watch Dotsero for us that weekend. So, we are free and clear!
